Key Account Manager

Summary:

The Key Account Manager (KAM) is responsible for the management of sales and relationships with a set of key clients in an assigned region, territory, channel or category. The KAM is responsible for maintaining the company's existing relationships with a client or group of clients, so that they will continue to buy and grow with Baumann Paper Company as the vendor of choice. The KAM is responsible for creating a long-term relationship with the portfolio of assigned clients. The KAM serves to understand each customer's demands, plan how to meet these demands, and generate growth sales for the company at those existing clients. Additionally, the KAM is to hunt, prospect and close new business by networking, cold calling, telemarketing or gaining referrals/testimonials in an assigned region or territory. The KAM is responsible for presenting solutions for customer and prospect challenges as well as being a consultative seller. The KAM is also responsible for coaching and mentoring Business Development Managers while meeting or exceeding assigned goals and objectives.

Duties:

Responsible for maintaining and growing Key Accounts in an assigned region, territory, channel or category.
Responsible for prospecting new clients, scheduling prospect and customer meetings, developing and delivering sales presentations, developing and preparing proposals and building successful relationships with new and existing clients.
Coach and Mentor Business Development Managers by making joint sales calls.
Organize & Plan joint sales calls with vendors & Business Development Managers to deliver on growth expectations, goals and objectives.
Responsible for presenting & demonstrating equipment and products in the Baumann Paper Company product offering.
Responsible for communicating key market intelligence and pricing to the Pricing Analyst.
Responsible for gaining and promptly communicating VOC (Voice of Customer) feedback to the VP of Sales.
Responsible for working jointly with Purchasing and Pricing Analyst on individual bids as well as new customer proposals.
Contribute to the management of customer inventory at the request of the customer.
Participate in Tradeshows and Conferences at the request of the VP of Sales.
Responsible for utilization of Baumann Paper Company’s CRM.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree required (concentration in business, management, marketing or entrepreneurship is preferred).
Proven track record of success with 5 or more years of sales experience preferred.
Previous experience in the Jan/San industry or foodservice industry strongly preferred.

Requirements:

Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook & Power Point).
Experience using integrated software.
Ability to learn new custom ERP program requirements.
Approximate travel is 70%. Access to reliable transportation is required.
