Internal Programs
Baumann participates in extensive internal recycling programs which include recycling paper, cardboard, plastic films, and pallets. Damaged cases are always considered for internal use or donation before going in the trash.

Facility Improvements
Recent renovations have increased our roof insulation to provide more energy efficient operation. Baumann uses smart thermostats and lighting to adjust temperatures and use light only when there’s activity nearby.

Continuous Improvement
Internal paper reduction – two sided printing, electronic data exchanges, digital invoicing, electronic delivery signatures. Our commitment to the environment means we print few paper catalogs and encourage use of our website.

Community Support
Baumann has participated in local go-green events to supply compostable items and promote zero-waste events.

Customer Support
Provide reporting to our customers on green product usage and options to assist with LEED Certification and LEED Credits.
Route reduction efforts to reduce our carbon footprint on the environment while also streamlining the customer's receiving schedule.

Ongoing Projects
Kentucky Utilities energy audit and upgrading to LED lighting. Utilizing spray foam to reduce energy needs.
Kentucky Utilities electric charging stations. Solar implementation to power our facility and fleet.

Our Fleet
Our forklifts and warehouse equipment are electric to allow use of renewable energy.
Utilizing hybrid passenger vehicles and other vehicles featuring improved fuel usage.
Continuously reviewing new technologies as we renew our fleet leases and pressing our own suppliers for sustainable options.

Outbound Freight
We use sustainable packaging (recycled cardboard and biodegradable packing peanuts) and reduce total waste when we can by not adding additional unnecessary packaging.
